For this 26 acre ecology park near Mumbai we used the landscape as a canvas to paint human stories, encouraging children to see the world in fresh and exciting ways.

Entering the park via a suspension bridge they are immersed in a world of lush greenery, discovering the plants that gave us chewing gum, chocolate, lipstick, dyes, musical instruments and surfboards, not to mention endless foods! They celebrate other cultures in five interactive, 'global' gardens, and explore the properties of traditional ayurvedic medicinal plants. A cricket pitch is planted with a ‘stadium’ of Banyan Trees, while the amphitheatre is framed by walls of Weeping Fig.

The project involved working on the ground in India with the clients, their local horticultural team and architects from Berlin.
